Spiritual Battle; The Enemies Attempt to Silence the Cross

by admingp

Chess Set, Spiritual BattleThere is a war going on that has eternal consequences. Are you aware that believers are involved in a spiritual battle?

In a separate article we will deal with how to fight this battle but for now it is important to understand that a war is being raged by Satan.

One of the most important events in history took place on the cross approximately 2000 years ago.

There at the cross Christ, died for our sins (1Cor 15:3 ). There Christ died as our substitute, paying for our sin. In that historical event was the solution to all the worlds’ problems and the defeat of Satan was assured.

Spiritual Battle

Today, we are in a spiritual battle. The enemy cannot undo that greatest event in history, the event that was his undoing but Satan does not want to go down alone, so in this spiritual battle he is doing his best to remove the Bible and its teachings from the world in a vain attempt to erase that event from the history books so to speak.

He may not be able to undo the deed, but he will do his best to keep the truth of the cross from being heard.

—Ephesians 6:12–13 NKJV “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Battle Casualties

In America we have a first hand taste of the results of taking God out of our lives. For the most part Christ cannot be mentioned in the workplace, schools, or government facilities. So, it is not surprising that we high divorce rates, crimes of all sorts, and the doing away of absolute right and wrongs resulting in many more evils being visited upon us. But the biggest casualty is many believers have become afraid to share the gospel.

Those leading the attack against the Bible may be flaunting and reveling in these so called victories but if they truly understand the cross, they will realize that they have already lost the war and all that they are doing now is storing up the wrath of God.

2 Thessalonians 1 8,9   In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2 Thessalonians 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

God by His grace has stayed His wrath, but someday he will visit his righteous judgment upon all unbelievers. So before it is too late, join the winning side and accept Christ as your savior.

What is the hope of the cross?

I know Christ died my death on the cross so that I may have eternal life. But in everyday life what does that mean to a believer. It certainly does not take the bumps out of the road of life.

The truth about Christ's painful death on the cross is that Christ did not come to remove our human sufferings but to show us a way through it to all of the heavenly blessings beyond.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,.

He has given us the strength to survive our tribulations until we are called home. His death on the cross is our guarantee!

That is the hope of the cross.
