Are you ready to live? If so, I have good news for you. The hope of Calvary is where your new life begins.
In this world we are all sinners “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23 NKJV) set adrift in a lost world. We are separated from God. Our sin is dooming us to death “For the wages of sin is death …” (Romans 6:23 NKJV) and it is keeping us from having a relationship with the God.
Many people will say I have no need for a God and push the existence of Him away. However, if we are truthful with ourselves, we know deep down something is wrong with the world and with us. We feel something important is missing and we long to restore what is missing. We live life feeling uncertain about the future and a fear begins to grip us as we hear death calling our names.
Self Righteousness Equals Failure
At this point we may try to seek God. Some will try to approach God by trying to be desirable. Just as pride led to the fall of mankind, our pride will fail in restoring our relationship with God. We will do all sorts of things to try to make ourselves acceptable to God. Many people will try to lead a good life, donate time and money to charitable causes, attend church, compare themselves to other people worse than them, or attempt to clothe themselves in some sort of self righteousness.
But God looks down at all our efforts and sees dung “… And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; …” (Isaiah 64:6 NKJV). Nothing we do can save us. We must humble ourselves and let go of our pride. It is necessary to accept that we fall way short of God’s standard of holiness. We need to admit that we are sinners and realize only God can save us. Salvation can never be about what we do but what God has already done for us at Calvary.
Hope of Calvary
There is one way and only one way to restore our relationship with God and that is through Jesus Christ. At the cross of Calvary Christ died for your sins. He took your sins to the grave and then rose victorious defeating the sting of death. If you want to experience the hope of Calvary and begin a new life with God place your faith in Christ’s accomplishments on the cross.
Once you do you will enjoy a restored relationship with God. You will be free of the fear of death and the judgment associated with sin. At the very moment you accept Christ as your savior, all your sins (past, present, and future) will have been forgiven. Every sin you have committed or will commit, Christ died for at Calvary.
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,”
The Price of Sin
God so loves the world and He desires to restore His relationship with you. However, your sin is a barrier that prevents Him from having a relationship with you. He can not ignore your sins. In the ultimate act of love, God is offering us a precious gift; His son.
There is a heavy price for sin and Christ paid it at Calvary. Your debt of sin has been dealt with at Calvary and God is freely offering you salvation. Will you accept this wonderful gift of salvation? By doing this you will be trading fear for the peace of God and will enjoy an eternal relationship with God. Will you embrace the hope of Calvary?
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1–2 NKJV)
Christ died for you!
“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, …” (1 Timothy 1:15 NKJV)
