paths: Am I going to heaven?

It is a question many people have asked. What happens after I die? Am I going to heaven or somewhere else?

We all have an eternal destiny. Our eternal future depends on the path we travel. I hope you will take some time to reflect on the path you are traveling.

What path are you traveling? Are you on the path to heaven?

Am I going to heaven?

Our sin separates from God.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

—Romans 3:23

Some People Believe They Can Gain Access to Heaven by Their Actions

Such As . . .

  • Keeping the Law
  • Obeying the 10 Commandments

The Law Can’t Save Us, But Only Shows us That We are Sinners

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

James 2:10 and Galatians 3:11

Others Believe you Can Get to Heaven by . . .

  • Water Baptism
  • Attending Church
  • Good Deeds
  • Living a Moral Life

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Titus 3:5

If are Actions Can’t Save Us . . . How Do We Get to Heaven?

We Need to Have a Right Standing Before God

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:21

Through Christ We are Declared Righteous

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Romans 3:26

Salvation Can Not be Earned. It is a Free Gift to All Who Trust in Christ

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesains 2:8-9

The Choice is Yours . . . You Can Accept Christ’s Work on the Cross and be Saved

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

OR . . . Reject Christ and Face Eternal Consequences

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

Did You Choose Life? If not. It’s Not too late to accept the Cure!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to god through the death of His Son, much more,

Romans 5:8-10

Gift of Salvation

We have examined the question: “Am I going to Heaven?” One thing we learned is that we are sinners and we can’t save ourselves. We deserve to go to hell. It is our sin keeps us out of heaven, There is absolutely nothing we can do to earn a place in heaven.

Thankfully, God is offering us the wonderful gift of salvation. In fact God will guarantee your salvation if you simply believe that Christ took the punishment for our sins on the cross.

On the cross Christ who knew no sin died for our sins that we might be made righteous in God. He died for us paying our debt in full so that we can have eternal life.

If you have not yet put your faith in Christ, please do so now.

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved . . .”

Acts 16:31

What is the hope of the cross?

I know Christ died my death on the cross so that I may have eternal life. But in everyday life what does that mean to a believer. It certainly does not take the bumps out of the road of life.

The truth about Christ's painful death on the cross is that Christ did not come to remove our human sufferings but to show us a way through it to all of the heavenly blessings beyond.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,.

He has given us the strength to survive our tribulations until we are called home. His death on the cross is our guarantee!

That is the hope of the cross.
