Reconciled to God; Ambassadors for Christ

Candle, Reconciled to God

Now that we are reconciled to God what is our duty? God wants us to be minister minded. While on earth we have a particular place in God’s plan. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been designed with a special purpose in mind as ambassadors for Christ.

—2 Corinthians 5:20–21 NKJV “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Reconciled to God

We did not want God in our lives and would actively push Him away. We considered God our enemy and would eagerly attack God and His Word. Despite our hostility toward God, in love God actively drew us near by the blood of Christ.

Through Christ’s blood, we are reconciled to God by faith, when we trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross. We have been made alive in Christ and our relation with God has been restored. Because of this we should want to live for the one who provided us with life and God is calling us to be an ambassador for Christ.

An Important Job – Christ’s Ambassadors

We have been entrusted with a very important job. We have been given the honor to represent Christ on earth. In the shadow of hopelessness we are to be the shinning light of hope through Christ. We are charged to bring the saving message, the good news of the cross to a lost world. Our life has meaning because of Christ and our purpose is the let a dying world know that Christ died for all. God wants to use us as a light to draw people near to Him.

We are to reach the lost in Christ’s name. Now that we have been reconciled to God, we need to bring the saving Word to sinners letting them know that they can become righteous in Christ by placing their faith in Christ for their salvation.

Serving God

Now that we are saved God is imploring us to serve Him. Instead of fighting His purpose, we are called to work along with Him. We are to embrace God’s Word as our guiding light and as ambassadors for Christ, just as Christ showed us love, we are to show love to the sinners of the world by bringing them the good news of the gospel

—Ephesians 2:8 NKJV “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,”

God is appealing to believers to be His ambassadors. I hope you will accept this challenge with gladness in your heart and be an ember burning brightly for Christ.

What is the hope of the cross?

I know Christ died my death on the cross so that I may have eternal life. But in everyday life what does that mean to a believer. It certainly does not take the bumps out of the road of life.

The truth about Christ's painful death on the cross is that Christ did not come to remove our human sufferings but to show us a way through it to all of the heavenly blessings beyond.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,.

He has given us the strength to survive our tribulations until we are called home. His death on the cross is our guarantee!

That is the hope of the cross.
