I have often pondered; How can man be precious to God?
I have a picture hanging in my house that shows a figure of a person portrayed against the background of towering peaks covered by snow. The only sign of life is the figure standing before the mountain. In comparison to the mountain the man looks small and insignificant.
We are nothing without God
I took this concept one step farther and began thinking how man is an insignificant spec of dust when you take into account the size of the universe. How can we possibly be precious to God?
Without God’s mercy and love all man could ever be is insignificant. This is quite a humbling thought. We are nothing without God. But God who is rich in mercy and Love sent His Son to die on the cross for us.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Precious by His Blood
It is through God’s love that we are precious. Because of Christ and the significance of what took place on the cross, we are not insignificant but we are precious to God.
—Ephesians 1:7 NKJV “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace”
—Ephesians 2:13 NKJV “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
A Great Inheritance
Because we are precious to God through Christ we have a great inheritance. God has not promised us a few blessing or many blessing but “with every spiritual blessing” This is the power of God’s love.
Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
If you have not yet trusted Christ as your savior, Please believe in God’s word and begin to enjoy every spiritual blessing.
1Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
