Christian Duty: Run for Christ

by admingp

Runner crossing finish line.

The Scriptures tell us Just like an athlete, we need to run for Christ so everyone can see the joy we have through Him. It is a Christian’s duty to strive to bring the world the good news of God’s son.

Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

A Christian Duty

Shinning the light on God’s offer of salvation is the great purpose to which believers are to to be committed. As long as we draw breath preaching the Gospel of Grace should be our main objective.

The goal is that when we finish our race, we can say as Paul did, that we have run a good race. If Christ is our source of joy, as believers we have a responsibility to let the world know about our joy.  We need to take every opportunity to share the hope of Christ with a sin filled world.

Sharing the gospel is not only our Christian duty but it is the reason we walk the earth. In fact we are admonished to hold this duty more valuable then our own individual life.

Don’t Let the Enemy Stop You.

If you have stumbled in your race to preach the good news, dust off you pants, get up, and finish your race in joy. Don’t let the enemy use fear as an obstacle to stop you from spreading the good news. If you do, Instead of experiencing joy in your final days on earth you risk being will mired in self pity and regrets.

Put on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:11) and overcome any obstacle that the enemy hurls your way, so that you may finish your race in joy.

Joy can’t be taken from us

Since Christ is our Joy, it can not be taken away from us by our circumstances. Joy is the fruit of a right relation with God that results from knowing and serving God. Through Christ you have the power to banish fear and relish in the joy. This is the blessing we have in the Lord Jesus Christ now and forever.

As a believer you are challenged to run the race in joy sharing the precious good news of Christ. A Christian’s duty is based in joy. Please don’t hesitate; take up the baton today and bring this life saving message to the world.

What is the hope of the cross?

I know Christ died my death on the cross so that I may have eternal life. But in everyday life what does that mean to a believer. It certainly does not take the bumps out of the road of life.

The truth about Christ's painful death on the cross is that Christ did not come to remove our human sufferings but to show us a way through it to all of the heavenly blessings beyond.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,.

He has given us the strength to survive our tribulations until we are called home. His death on the cross is our guarantee!

That is the hope of the cross.
