Knowing Christ is alive will instantly bring joy to every believer. One of the cornerstones of the christian faith is Christ’s resurrection. Believing in the existence of God is crucial but it is Christ’s death and resurrection that is our hope of eternal life.
—Romans 4:23–25 NKJV “Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.”
Resurrection of Christ: Shout of Victory!
The combination of Christ dying and then rising is an important piece of the gospel of grace. For the believer is identified with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. If there is no rising, then there is no power in the gospel. Our salvation and trust in Christ Jesus is wrapped up in this fact.
In dying for us Christ faced the wrath and judgement of God. He willing experienced our punishment so that we could be reconciled to God. However, dying was only the first part of our salvation.
The second part of the process was encompassed in His resurrection. Through His resurrection the shout of victory over death could be heard loud and clear. With that loud shout the sting of death was removed. His resurrection was the ringing sound of victory. Christ conquered death and brought us life.
Identified with Christ
We are given this new life and identified with Christ by faith in Jesus Christ. Because of our identification with Christ we are declared righteousness. We bring nothing to the table. Our justification and salvation is based solely on Christ’s accomplishment.
It was because of our offenses that Christ died. Through His death he paid our debt, but not only that but by His resurrection we are now beyond the reach of eternal death and now have eternal life.
Free from Sin
We have been justified at the high cost of His blood and His resurrection is the victory sign that sin is no longer our master. We have a new master in the risen Christ.
Christ has obtained our salvation for us. First by dying for us and then through His resurrection our righteousness was guaranteed.
By placing faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection the lost sinner can experience the saving power of God. Through the cross Christ has restored our relationship with God. The believer is now complete in Christ
Christ is Alive!
Christ is risen! If you have not placed your faith in the risen Christ won’t you now identify yourself with Christ’s death and resurrection and experience the life Christ is offering.
—1 Corinthians 15:20–22 NKJV “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.”
