Have you been justified by God and what does that mean?
We have the weight of sin dragging us down. We are a slave to sin and deserve the penalty of death.
We are all guilty sinners. Left on our own we will be judged and sentenced to what the bible calls the lake of fire, a terrible judgment. where we will face the FULL wrath of God.
Justified by Blood
What a frightening prospect! Yet God in a great demonstration of His love and grace sent His son to the cross in our behalf, so that we could avoid this terrible fate.
God has paid the penalty of sin for us on the cross. Through that action the guilt has been removed from us and we are being declared righteous by Christ’s sacrifice. Justification is a large topic in the Bible and deserves an in-depth study but in its simplest element, it is the sinner being declared righteous through Christ’s atoning blood on the cross.
—Romans 3:24 NKJV “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,”
Declared Righteous
We can not approach God with our own merits but must trust and believe in what Christ accomplished for us on the Cross. It is through what Christ accomplished that we are declared righteous.
God justifies and declares righteous the sinner who believes in Jesus Christ. Have you trusted in Christ? Will you accept God’s free gift today?
—Romans 4:5 NKJV “But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,”
—Romans 5:1 NKJV “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
—Romans 3:26 NKJV “to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
—2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
