It is amazing that God scarified His son to guarantee our eternal security.
In the previous article we looked at Paul’s first two questions: “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
We will now examine the third question Paul uses to emphasize the believer’s eternal security in Romans 8:31-39. ” …how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
God’s Great Sacrifice
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Again we can see the evidence of God’s love that He demonstrated toward us. In an incredible act of love at the cross, in order that believers could be delivered from the clutches of death, He did not spare His own Son.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Guaranteed Eternal Security
Instead of the death we deserve, God sent His son to die for our sin, so that we may be justified. The believer can look at that single event in history and know God expressed a great love that is continuing for eternity. That one act of love on the cross guarantees our eternal security.
We can rest assured if God made the greatest sacrifice ever to save us, He will will continue to sustain us. We need no further proof that God is for us. We can feel secure knowing nothing will be able to separate us from Him.
If you have not placed your faith in Christ yet, won’t you do so now and stop worrying about the future. For in Christ our future is guaranteed and secured.
As we continue to look at the questions Paul poses in Romans 8:31-39 we will continue to see how secure we are in Christ!
